VoiceOver with Square

The VoiceOver accessibility feature in iOS is compatible with Square on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices. VoiceOver is a screen reader that describes exactly what’s happening on your device. Auditory descriptions of onscreen elements help to navigate simple gestures on a touchscreen or trackpad when using Square hardware.

Depending on which piece of Square Hardware you are using, you may need to use a headphone splitter to connect both your reader and a set of headphones. If your device is connected via Bluetooth, you won’t need any extra hardware.

If you are using the Square Chip Card Reader, VoiceOver won’t be available when your reader is plugged directly into the 3.5mm headphone jack; you’ll need to use a headphone splitter to connect both your reader and a set of headphones.
