Groupon and Square
Groupon is a marketplace where customers can find experiences. As a Groupon Merchant, you can list your service on Groupon to get exposed to new customers. They provide a suite of marketing tools and discount formats to promote your experience.
Integration Features
Groupon connects with Citas Square to sync your calendar and manage your bookings in one place.
New customers from Groupon can make an appointment without switching over to your website or calling to book.
The appointment data is transferred automatically to Square Appointments when a booking is made on Groupon.
If the Groupon appointment needs to be amended or canceled, you can manage this directly from Square Appointments.

Important to note
Groupon does not integrate with Square Payments. All voucher redemptions and payments for services sold on Groupon are settled directly with them. Read the Groupon FAQ to learn more.
Make sure not to collect payments via Square Appointments, otherwise, the customer will be charged twice. Once you deliver the service and settle the payment with Groupon, no further actions are required in Square Appointments to mark an appointment as completed.
Bookings made through Groupon will not automatically appear as “paid” in Square Appointments, and they will not be counted automatically in your Square report. See FAQ below to learn how to account for Groupon sales in your Square sales report.
Integration Requirements
The integration works with all Square Appointments plans—registro for an account is easy.
The integration does not work with manual appointment acceptance. You must change this setting to use the integration. To do so from the online Square Dashboard:
Go to Customers > Appointments.
Click Settings > Calendar & Booking.
Under "Online Booking Preferences" > "Reservation Guarantee," select Business automatically accepts all appointment requests.
Click Save.
Note: If you accidentally use "manual booking acceptance" and you leave the appointment pending or declined, please contact Groupon directly to reverse the payment with the customer using the support details below.
Pricing
It’s free to use this integration. Groupon does not charge any upfront costs to create and run a campaign. They charge a commission rate on all sales, which varies.

Integrate Groupon with Square
Once you create your Groupon Merchant account, log in to Groupon.
Follow the prompts to allow permissions to connect your accounts.
Follow the instructions from Groupon to offer a service and launch your first campaign.
You can view or manage all of your integrations at any time via the Integraciones de aplicaciones tab on your online Square Dashboard.

How do I account for Groupon sales in my Square sales reports?
If you want a Groupon appointment sale to be reflected in your Square sales reports, you can record an External Payment in Square. To do so:
From the Square Appointments web application:
Click Take a Payment on the Groupon appointment.
Select Payment Type > Other.
From the iOS Appointments app:
Select Review and Check Out.
Select Charge > More > Other Payment Types. There is an optional note field where you can input “Groupon Payment” for your records.
Does the integration work with automated and manual appointment acceptance?
The integration does not work with manual appointment acceptance. You must enable automated appointment acceptance to use the integration. To do so from the online Square Dashboard:
Go to Customers > Appointments.
