About reloading an eGift card
Reloading eGift cards allows you to hold on to your earnings, keep customers coming back and make it simple for them to use their eGift card in-store or online.
Additionally, eGift cards are easily reloadable for future sales. It makes you grow your sales and customers are likely to spend more at your business when they use an eGift card.
Before you begin
You can only reload an eGift card from your point of sale app.
To reload an eGift card, you will need the 16-digit gift card number, or access to the QR or barcode from the eGift card.
Customers can also reload their eGift cards online from the original eGift card email or text they received, from their Square profile, or directly from your eGift card order site, which you can find in your gift card settings in Square Dashboard. To reload their eGift card online, customers will need to confirm their eGift card number, PIN (if applicable), and payment card information.
Reload an eGift card
Square POS
From the Checkout screen, tap Library > Gift Cards > Check balance or reload card.
Scan, swipe, or enter the number shown on your gift card. If your device has a camera, you can use it to scan gift cards with barcodes or QR codes.
Tap Add value and select a preset amount or enter a custom amount.
Tap Review sale > Charge to complete the transaction.
Online
Open your unique eGift Card online ordering page using a web browser.
Click Reload card in the top right-hand corner.
Manually enter the gift card number and the PIN. If there is no PIN, check the 'My gift card does not have a PIN' box.
Select an amount to add to the eGift Card.
If applicable, Add Discount code.
Click Continue.
Enter your email address, then click Place Order to complete the payment.
