For faster access to your money, initiate an instant deposit from the Square app or from your online Square DashboardYou can instantly send up to $2,500 per deposit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is no limit to the number of instant deposits you can initiate in a given day. 

Note: Your minimum balance must be $50 for instant deposits and $25 for scheduled deposits after Square’s processing and deposit fees.

Note: New sellers start with a limit of one instant deposit per day of up to $500. As you run and grow your business with Square, a higher daily deposit amount may become available. Instant Deposit may not be available for sellers using Square APIs until they have sufficient account history.

Instant Deposit Pricing

Each instant deposit costs 1% of the deposit amount in addition to Square’s standard card processing fees. Any balance not deposited instantly will be sent according to your normal deposit schedule.

Note: The Instant Deposit cost is not reimbursed when you earn Free Processing.

Set Up Instant Deposit

Once you’ve linked a card from the app or your Dashboard, learn about sending instant deposits.

From the Square App

  1. Open the app and tap: Three Horizontal Lines or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register: Register Switcher
  2. Tap Settings > Deposits.
  3. Toggle Allow Instant Deposit on.
  4. Key in the required debit card information and enter your Square account password for confirmation.
  5. Tap Link.
  6. Verify your debit card via the email sent to the address associated with your account.

From your Dashboard

From your Home page, click Instantly deposit now > enter and save your debit card information.

From Deposit Settings, click Add a debit card > enter and save your debit card information.

Square will send an email to the address associated with your account. Click the verification link in this email to confirm your debit card within 24 hours of receiving it. If you can’t find the email, check your spam or resend the email from Deposit Settings.

Note: Before you are able to set up Instant Deposits, you will need to have a bank account linked to your Square Account.

Edit Your Debit Card

From the Square app

  1. Tap: Three Horizontal Lines or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register: Register Switcher
  2. Tap Settings > Deposits.
  3. Tap Link a Different Debit Card.
  4. Key in your debit card information and enter your Square account password to confirm.
  5. Tap Link.
  6. Verify your debit card via the email sent to the address associated with your account.

From your Dashboard

  1. Visit Deposit Settings.
  2. Click Change Debit Card.
  3. Enter and save your debit card information.
  4. Verify your debit card via the email sent to the address associated with your account.

Send an Instant Deposit

Before using Instant Deposit, make sure you’ve added a debit card and have confirmed your bank account is linked and verified. Instant Deposit fees display under Instant Deposit in your online deposit summaries.

If your Square balance is below $50 (after fees), Instant Deposit will not be available. You’re able to instantly deposit payments in an amount of up to $2,500 at one time.

If you run into any trouble with Instant Deposit, try these troubleshooting steps.

Note: Instant Deposits are not available for payments taken using your Virtual Terminal.

From the Square app

  1. Tap: Three Horizontal Lines or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register: Register Switcher
  2. Tap Transactions > Instantly Deposit.

You’ll see an in-app deposit confirmation and receive a confirmation email.

You can also send and track your Instant Deposits from your Reports tab:

  1. Tap: Three Horizontal Lines or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register: Register Switcher
  2. Tap Reports > Deposits.
  3. Tap Instantly Deposit.

From your Square Dashboard

There are two ways to initiate an instant deposit from your Dashboard. (1) From your Home page, tap Instantly deposit now > Deposit Now. Or, (2) from Deposit Settings, click Deposit Now located under Instant Deposit.

Note: You can schedule Instant Deposits ahead of time, so that you receive your funds every day at your Close of Day.

Instant Deposit Reports

See your entire deposit history, including Instant Deposits, in your online Square Dashboard by logging in to Deposits. Click each deposit to see its details.

To review your Deposit Report in the Square Point of Sale app:

  1. Tap: Three Horizontal Lines or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register: Register Switcher
  2. Tap Reports > Deposits.
