Manage Deliveries in Square Dashboard

Save time with the Deliveries page in Square Dashboard, which helps you manage delivery for orders placed with Square Invoices, Square Online, Square Point of Sale and Square for Retail.

View Your Deliveries Page

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries

  2. Click the To do tab to view all delivery orders that require action by you and have a New or In progress status.

  3. Click the Dispatched tab to view all delivery orders that are marked as Dispatched.

View delivery details

Select an individual delivery order to view additional information, such as order info, delivery details and fulfilled items, based on where the customer created the delivery order.

Search and filter deliveries

Sort and filter delivery orders based on the status and fulfilment location. 

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.

  2. Click the To do or Dispatched tab.

  3. Enter the order details in the Search box to locate a specific order.

  4. Click Fulfilment location to view your locations and tick the box next to the location you’d like to view.

Update fulfilment status

To update the fulfilment status for an entire shipment order:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.
  2. Select the To do tab. Note: Fulfilment statuses cannot be updated on Shipped orders.
  3. Select an individual shipment order.
  4. Click Actions and choose Mark as in progress or Mark as shipped.
  5. Enter the tracking information and select the courier.

Deliveries updated to Dispatched will send a delivery email notification to your customer.

To update the fulfilment status on multiple shipment orders at once:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.
  2. Select the To do tab. Note: Fulfilment statuses cannot be updated on Dispatched orders.
  3. Tick the box next to each shipment order that you want to update the status on.
  4. At the bottom of the page, click Actions > Mark as in progress or Mark as shipped.
  5. Click Mark as in progress or Mark as shipped to confirm.

Note: You can select up to 25 shipment orders at a time to take a bulk action on.

Add or Update Fulfilment Information

You can add additional or update existing information on delivery orders based on the status of the order. Note: You will not be able to add or update the courier, tracking, delivery address or dispatched-on date once a delivery order is updated to Dispatched.

Add or update courier

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Shipments.
  2. Click the To do tab.
  3. Click an individual shipment order to view more details.
  4. Click Add next to Courier or click the existing carrier to update.
  5. Select a courier.
  6. Click Done.

Add a ship date

To include the date the shipment order needs to be sent by the business to the customer:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Shipments.
  2. Click the To do tab.
  3. Click an individual shipment order to view more details.
  4. Click Set a date next to Fulfil by and enter the date.

Note: Shipped-on date will automatically show when you changed the shipment order to Shipped.

Update the delivery address

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Shipments.
  2. Click the To do tab.
  3. Click an individual shipment order to view more details.
  4. Click the address next to Deliver to.
  5. Enter the new delivery address
  6. Select Save.

Note: If the address cannot be verified, you can click Back to edit to review the entry or click Save anyway to continue without verification.

Delivery Tracking

View shipment tracking information

You can view a list of your shipment orders with their tracking statuses and estimated delivery date. To view shipment orders tracking information:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Shipments.
  2. Click To do to view New and In-progress orders.
  3. Click a shipment order to update the status, add the tracking information and update to Shipped.
  4. Click Shipped to view shipped orders.
  5. Filter orders from multiple locations by selecting the Fulfilment location drop-down and choosing all that apply.
  6. Click the Delivery status drop-down to filter by delivery status.
  7. Select a shipment order to view the status, order info, shipment details and fulfilled items.

Add or update a tracking number

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Shipments.
  2. Click the To do tab.
  3. Click an individual shipment order to view more details.
  4. Click Add next to Tracking info to manually enter the tracking number.
  5. Click the existing tracking number to update it. You’ll see an error message if the tracking number doesn’t match the courier.
  6. Click Done.

Note: You cannot add or update tracking information if the shipment order is updated to Shipped.

View the tracking number and track the shipment

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Shipments.
  2. Click the To do or Shipped tab.
  3. Locate the Tracking info column.
  4. Click the tracking number link to view the courier’s tracking status page.

If an unsupported courier is used, the created tracking link will direct you to a Google search with the tracking number. If a supported courier is used, the created tracking link will direct you to the courier’s tracking status page.

Print a Packing Slip

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.

  2. Click the To do or Dispatched tab.

  3. Click an individual delivery order to view more details.

  4. Click Print packing slip to generate an 8.5” x 11” packing slip to include with a delivery.

  5. Click the print icon to print the packing slip.

The packing slip will show the customer, courier, delivery rate, item name/quantity, company name and address, and logo.

Print packing slips in bulk

To print packing slips for multiple shipments orders at once:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.
  2. Click the To-do tab.
  3. Tick the box next to each shipment order that you want to print a packing slip for.
  4. At the bottom of the page, click Actions > Print packing slips.
  5. Click the print icon to print the packing slips.

Note: You can select up to 25 shipment orders at a time to take a bulk action on.

Split a Delivery

To separate a single delivery order into multiple deliveries:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.

  2. Click the To do tab.

  3. Click an individual delivery order to view more details.

  4. Click Split delivery.

  5. Tick the box next to the items you want to send together.

  6. Click Next > Create new deliveries. Note: This action will split the delivery order into two new deliveries and cannot be reversed.

The status for split deliveries will display as Split.

Note: You will not be able to use Split delivery on the Deliveries page if the order is from a partial delivery.

Activity Log

The activity log displays fulfilment events created for delivery orders and viewing specific actions taken by your team members. Events will appear in your activity log when delivery details are updated manually or automatically.

To get started:

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click Orders > Deliveries.

  2. Click the To do or Dispatched tab.

  3. Click an individual delivery order.

  4. Scroll down to view the events in your activity log.

Events

Possible events that may appear in your activity log include:

  • Fulfilment in progress
  • Fulfilment completed
  • Customer updated
  • Fulfilment details updated
  • Split shipment applied
  • Shipment delivery status and delivery sub-status

Activity log details

You can view details within the events in your activity log, including:

  • Name of the team member that updated the fulfilment order
  • Location nickname – Note: Location nickname doesn’t appear if you have multiple locations.
  • Date and time of the update
