Set up collection options for Square Online

    You can sell Prepared food and beverage or Physical good items online, and offer nearby customers a way to collect their orders directly from your business: Click and Collect.

    Before you begin

    Step 1: Set up Click and Collect

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Account & Settings > Fulfilment methods > Online collection and delivery.

    2. By the desired collection location, click Set up location.

    3. Indicate that you want to offer collection by selecting Yes.

    4. Indicate whether you’ll calculate and assign collection times automatically by selecting Yes or No (you’ll set more of this up later), then click Continue.

    5. Complete local delivery setup and click Continue.

    6. Choose the sites where the collection location should be available and click Continue.

    7. Review your settings so far, then click Edit to go to the Collection tab.

    8. Set up order timing by choosing whether or not it should be calculated automatically.

      • Click Yes to set up automatic timing calculations that consider these settings: when orders are available for collection, how soon they can be collected, when you start prepping orders, required prep time per order, how far in advance customers can place orders, and how simultaneous collections are restricted based on your capacity.

      • Click No to enter manual customer instructions that give you complete control over your collection process – simply include your instructions about how and when customers can collect their orders.

    9. Set up workflow settings to enable one of two ticket-printing options: either print tickets for orders based on their scheduled collection times, or print tickets immediately after orders are placed regardless of their collection times.

    10. Set up fulfilment hours by indicating your collection hours and time zone. You can also designate specific dates as restricted to indicate days of the year your location won’t process collection orders (such as bank holidays).

    11. Set up collection-related settings, including a Click and Collect option (business phone number required) and a minimum order amount.

    12. Adjust any remaining settings in the Location details and Site visibility tabs.

    13. Click Save.

    Step 2: Manage advanced collection settings (optional)

    After completing your main setup, you can also configure other advanced settings that will apply to every location you’ve enabled for collection.

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Account & Settings > Fulfilment methods > Online collection and delivery

    2. Click Advanced settings.

    3. Under ‘Large order settings’, toggle Set a quantity limit for collection and delivery orders on, and enter a quantity limit. You can also include an optional custom message explaining how to place orders that are over the quantity limit.

    4. Under ‘On-POS arrival alerts’, toggle Allow customers to reply HERE via text to announce they’ve arrived on if you prefer that customers text you instead of call. Texts will go to your point of sale.

    5. Click Save.

    Stop accepting collection orders

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Account & Settings > Fulfilment methods > Online collection and delivery

    2. Toggle Collection off by your chosen location.

    You can turn collection back on at any time.
