Create Anchor Links in Square Online

If you have a page with multiple sections, you can add a link to your site’s navigation menu that will jump to any section of that page. This type of link is often referred to as an anchor link.

Note: Currently, anchor links are only available for standard pages and can’t be used with item or category pages. You’re also unable to grab the anchor link’s URL within the editor. You’ll need to obtain the URL from your live website by publishing it first if you ever need to use or share it.

Add an Anchor Link to Your Navigation

To add a new anchor link to your site’s navigation menu, go to your Square Online site editor and select the Header section on your site. Then select Navigation > Navigation links in the editor menu.

Use the second dropdown menu to choose which section you want to link to, and enter a name to be displayed in your site’s navigation menu. Select Save when finished.

You’ll see your new navigation link appear in the links list in the editor menu. If you want to change where it appears on your site’s navigation menu, select and drag the navigation link in the editor menu to a new position.

Remove an Anchor Link from Your Navigation

To remove an anchor link from your site’s navigation menu, go to your Square Online site editor and select the Header section on your site. Then select Navigation > Navigation links in the editor menu.

Hover over the navigation link in the editor menu, and select the recycling bin icon to remove it from your site’s navigation menu entirely.

You can also select the pencil icon to edit the navigation link. Select the toggle in the pop-up window to disable the anchor link and Save. This will cause your navigation link to link to the entire page instead of the specific section on the page.
