Set up order fulfillment prompts for your point of sale

    Fulfillment prompts help you track how orders are being fulfilled directly from your point of sale. These prompts require your team members to select a fulfillment method (like For here, To go, Pickup or Delivery) when creating orders. Use POS fulfillment prompts to help you better organize order workflows, track fulfillment types for reporting and ensure consistent order handling across your locations.

    Before you begin

    You can set up POS fulfillment prompts and configure the following location settings from Square Dashboard:

    • Select where the prompts appear in the order flow

    • Set a default fulfillment method that will be pre-selected for new orders

    • Hide fulfillment methods

    Before you can set up POS fulfilment prompts, you need to create fulfillment methods. Learn how to create and manage dining options.

    Set up POS fulfillment prompts

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Account & Settings > Fulfillmentmethods > Point of sale.

    2. Click Manage by location.

    3. Click the Location drop-down menu and select the locations you want to use POS fulfillment prompts at.

    4. Turn Ask staff to choose a fulfillment method for each new order? on and select the following options:

      1. At the start of each new order

      2. After tapping Pay or Send

    5. Click Save and repeat the steps for each location, if applicable.
