Set up order fulfilment prompts for your point of sale

    Fulfilment prompts help you track how orders are being fulfilled directly from your point of sale. These prompts require your team members to select a fulfilment method (such as For here, To go, Pickup or Delivery) when creating orders. Use POS fulfilment prompts to help you better organise order workflows, track fulfilment types for reporting and ensure consistent order handling across your locations.

    Before you begin

    You can set up POS fulfilment prompts and configure the following location settings from the Square Dashboard:

    • Select where the prompts appear in the order flow

    • Set a default fulfilment method that will be pre-selected for new orders

    • Hide fulfilment methods

    Before you can set up POS fulfilment prompts, you need to create fulfilment methods. Learn how to create and manage dining options.

    Set up POS fulfilment prompts

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Account & Settings > Fulfilmentmethods > Point of sale

    2. Click Manage by location.

    3. Click the Location drop-down menu and select the locations where you want to use POS fulfilment prompts.

    4. Turn Ask staff to choose a fulfilment method for each new order? on and select the following options:

      1. At the start of each new order

      2. After tapping ‘Pay’ or ‘Send’

    5. Click Save and repeat the steps for each location, if applicable.
