Accept Payments

Before you can sell online, you’ll need to connect to a payment processor. When customers purchase items from your store, the connected payment processor securely handles their credit card details and deposits the funds into your account. There are a few options you can choose from, and each charges different transaction fees and offers varying deposit schedules. If you haven’t set up an account with one of these providers yet, you should research each and choose the one best for your needs.

You can connect your store to one of the following payment processors:

  • Square – Securely collect credit card payments online and offline, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Receive your funds within one to two business days.

  • PayPal – Allow customers to purchase using funds in their PayPal account or with a credit card. Receive funds the same day.

Additionally, you have the option to connect to both PayPal and Square, which allows your customers more flexibility. They can checkout through PayPal or directly on your site with credit card processing by either Square or Stripe.

To connect a payment processor, go to the dashboard and click Settings, then select Checkout.
Use the connect button to login and authorise your account. If you’ve created a brand new account with one of these services, make sure you complete all of the setup steps to ensure there are no interruptions or delays in receiving payments.

When your customers purchase an item from your store, their checkout experience will be slightly different depending on which payment processors you set up.

With only Square connected, payment through credit or debit card is the only option available. Customers will enter their details on your secure checkout page and complete the transaction without leaving your website.

With both PayPal and a credit card processor connected, the checkout page will offer both options. Selecting PayPal will redirect the customer to PayPal to complete the transaction, while choosing credit or debit card will prompt them to enter payment details on the checkout page and complete the purchase on your website.

If only PayPal is connected, the checkout process is a bit different – the customer will see a message informing them they will be taken to PayPal to complete payment.
