Change the Date Format in Square Point of Sale or Square Dashboard

This article outlines how to update the date format in your Square Dashboard and the Square app.

For Square Dashboard using Google Chrome on a Mac:

  1. From Google Chrome, click Chrome in the top-left corner of your browser and then select Preferences.

  2. Locate the section that says ‘Language and input settings’.

  3. Add ‘English (Australia)’ and drag it to the top of the language list.

  4. Click Done.

For Square Dashboard using Google Chrome on a Chromebook or Windows PC:

  1. From Google Chrome, click More (usually represented by 3 dots to the right hand side of the address bar) then Settings.

  2. Under Advanced, click Languages and Input.

  3. If English (Australia) not already listed, click Add languages and add it to the list. Once added, click More (again represented by 3 dots to the right hand side of English (Australia)) > tick Display Chrome OS in this language and Move to the top.

  4. Delete English (United States) from the list of available languages (if applicable).

For the Square App on an iPad or iPhone:

  1. Tap the home button and then select Settings.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Tap Language & Region.

  4. Set the iPad language to English (Australia) and region to Australia.

For the Square App on an Android device:

  1. Tap the home button and then select Settings.

  2. Tap Date and Time and choose to either use Automatic date & time or set it manually.

Note: There are many Android devices on the market, come with a different layout of the Settings section. If you’re unable to amend the date and time on your device, we suggest checking the manufacturer’s instructing manual for further information.
