About Square hardware financing payments
Square hardware financing is a flexible payment option allowing you to purchase Square hardware and pay for it in monthly installments. Depending on your order total, you’ll see repayment options at checkout for 3, 6, 12, or 24 months. Learn to apply for Square hardware financing.
Your first payment will occur 30 days after checkout. From there your charges occur each month until the balance of the order has been fully paid. If your state charges sales tax, it will be due at checkout. You can update the credit or debit card your installments payments are charged to from the Square Shop.
Before you begin
Your monthly Square hardware financing payments are made automatically using the credit or debit card that you provide at the time of your purchase. If we are unable to complete payment(s) from your credit or debit card, we will attempt to debit the bank account associated with your Square account.
You can update your payment method at any time from Square Shop. You can also pay off your balance early.
Square emails you a billing reminder a few days before each payment is due and also each month after your payment is made. The email includes your outstanding balance as well as essential details about your monthly Square hardware financing. If you aren’t able to make a payment on time, please make your payment as soon as possible. You won’t be charged any late fees, but late payments may make it harder for you to qualify in the future.
If you return your Square hardware within 30 days of your order, you get a full refund of all financing payments made to date after we receive your return. If you submit a partial return, we’ll reduce your remaining balance due. Learn to warranty or return your Square hardware.
Update your payment method
You can update your preferred payment method from Square Shop:

Sign in to your Square account on Square Shop.
From a laptop, hover your cursor over the cart icon and click Order history.
From a mobile device, tap the cart icon and tap Order history.
Select the order you want to update and click Change Card on File.
Follow the prompts to update your payment method.
