Square’s Payment Processing Fees
With the Square Point of Sale app, you’ll pay the following per-transaction fees:
1.75% for each touched (contactless), inserted (Chip + PIN), or swiped card-present transaction.
2.5% for payments manually keyed-in to the Point of Sale app, Square Invoices and Virtual Terminal.
1.9% for European cards and 2.9% for non-European cards for our online payment products, including Square eCommerce API, Online Store, Online Checkout and purchases of Digital Gift Cards.

Note: The higher fee for manually entered transactions is due to a greater risk involved with these payments, as neither the payment card nor the buyer have to be present for the payment to occur.

No Hidden Fees
No hidden fees! There are no fees for:
Activation
Early termination
Interchange
Chargebacks
Cash payments
Refunds
Inactivity
Card fees are included in Square’s fees, so you will not incur any charges from card companies.
Payment processing fees are taken out of the total amount of each transaction, including VAT on the sale and tip.
Square’s fees apply to all business types, including non-profit organisations.

View Your Fees
View your current processing rates at any time from your online Square Dashboard. For an overview of fees paid per month in the past, you can visit Fee Invoices
Note: If you have more than one location, you must first select a location to view its rates.
View Fees Paid Per Transfer
From the Square Point of Sale app:
Tap the three horizontal lines > tap Balance.
Tap Transfer Reports > select a transfer.
Fees for the sales included in that transfer are listed under Fees.
From your online Square Dashboard:
Log in to Balance in your online Square Dashboard.
Select a date range from the date selector tool in the upper-left corner.
Select a transfer from the list for an overview of the total fees paid.
To view fees associated with each transaction in your selected transfer date range, click Export directly under the date range button.
View Fees for a Period of Time
From the Square Point of Sale app:
Tap the three horizontal lines > tap Reports.
Tap Sales > tap the settings icon in the upper-right corner.
Tap Custom and select a date range > tap Apply.
From your online Square Dashboard:
From the Sales section of your online Square Dashboard, click Reports.
Click Sales Summary > select a date range from the date selector tool in the upper-left corner.
Fees paid for this period of time will be displayed in the Fees row of the report.
View Fees for a Single Payment
From the Sales section of your online Square Dashboard, click Transactions.
Select a date range from the date selector tool in the upper-left corner.
Select a transaction. The fee paid for the transaction will be listed below the transaction details.
Visit Fee Invoices to view and download a monthly summary of fees paid.
