File Attachment for Square Invoices

This new feature allows you to attach files to your Square Invoices via the Square Point of Sale app and online Dashboard.

Add Attachments to Invoices from the Square Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Invoices in your online Square Dashboard > click Create Invoice.

  2. Select a customer from your Customer Directory, or enter a new name and email address.

  3. Select items and apply modifiers by clicking Customize.

  4. Click Add Attachments to upload documents or images from your computer.
    Note: Image files and PDFs can be uploaded with a total file size limit of 10MB with a maximum of 10 files.

  5. You may add additional attachments one at a time or remove uploaded attachments by selecting the X.

  6. Click Send or select a payment card from the drop down list below Payment > select a date to charge the card > Charge.

Before sending your invoice, select Preview in the top right-hand corner to view your invoice as your customer will see it. You can also click Save as draft to save the current version to work on later.

Do not use this feature to upload any Personal Health Information, illegal content, or content in violation of Square’s Terms of Service. Content you upload may be reviewed and used by Square in connection with contesting a chargeback.

Add Attachments to Invoices from the Square App

  1. Select Invoices from the navigation menu.

  2. Tap the Create Invoice button.

  3. Enter your customer’s name and email address > tap Add to Invoice.

  4. If you want to send this invoice at a later date, tap the Send option and choose another send date.

  5. Tap Add Item to add items from your item library.

  6. Select Add Attachment.

  7. Choose an image from your photo library or take a photo (JPEG is the only supported file format at this time.)

  8. Edit image name if needed and tap Upload.

  9. To add additional attachments return to step 6.

  10. Tap Send.

Can I attach files to a recurring Invoices?

File attachment isn’t currently supported for recurring Invoice series. We are actively working on the feature and we will have updates soon.
