The Square Point of Sale app on iOS automatically mirrors your device’s appearance settings.

Before you begin

Make sure your Square Point of Sale app is updated to the latest version from the App Store.

Use Auto mode with iOS system settings

To change when your device switches between Light and Dark, follow the steps to use Dark Mode on your iPhone and iPad.

The Square POS app will follow whatever your device is set to when Auto mode is active.

Troubleshooting

If text or icons appear incorrectly after switching appearance modes:

  1. Try switching to Light mode, then switch back to your preferred mode.

  2. Force quit the Square POS app and reopen it.

  3. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.
