About free subdomains

If you don’t own a custom domain yet, you can create a free subdomain ending in ‘square.site’ (like ‘mybusiness.square.site’) and connect it to your website. This can help you get online quickly while you continue designing and building your brand.

Before you begin

• You can connect or change your free subdomain in Square Dashboard.

• When you first set up your website, you automatically get a free subdomain based on your business information. You can change your free subdomain at any time.

Connect the preset subdomain

1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online > Online store.

2. Click Website > Domains.

3. Find the preset subdomain.

4. If you approve the subdomain, Publish your site from the Square Online site editor to see your changes live.

Change your free subdomain

You can change your free subdomain at any time.

1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Online > Online store.

2. Click Website > Domains.

3. Click Connect domain.

4. Click Use a Square subdomain and enter your preferred subdomain name (like ‘mybusiness.square.site’).

5. Click Change when finished.

6. Publish your site from the Square Online site editor to see your changes live.
