    Connect Square to Apple Business

To get started, you’ll need an Apple Business organization. Follow the steps below to set up an Apple Business organization on Apple, or connect your existing Apple Business organization to Square if you already have one.

Set up an Apple Business organisation on Apple

    1. Go to Apple Business to get started.
    2. Sign in with your Apple Account.
    3. Provide all information required by Apple.
    4. Review and agree to the Apple Business Terms & Conditions.
    5. Next, set up your brand and complete organisation verification with Apple.
    6. Wait until Apple verifies your organisation and approves your brand, then return to Square Dashboard to connect your Apple Business organisation to Square. Follow the steps below to connect your account.

Connect an existing Apple Business organisation to Square

If you already have an Apple Business organisation, you can connect it to Square using an Apple Account that is an administrator of that organisation.

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Channels.
    2. Under Apple Business, click Connect.
    3. Sign in using the Apple Account that’s an administrator of your Apple Business organisation.
    4. If prompted, select the existing Apple Business organisation you want to connect to Square.
    5. Select Locations and Brand Profiles in the feature drop-down > Allow to connect your Square account with Apple Business and give Square permission to manage your brand and locations.
    6. Once complete, your Apple Business organisation will be connected to Square and you’ll receive a confirmation email from Apple.

    Manage your brand

In Apple Business, a brand is a line of business within a country. If an organization operates in multiple countries, each country needs its own brand. For example, Joe's Coffee in the United States is one brand and Joe's Coffee in Canada can be another. Locations are the individual storefronts associated with that brand within that country. Your brand name and logo are used on locations on Apple Maps.

    Set up brand details

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Channels.
    2. Once you’ve connected your Apple Business account in Square Dashboard, within the Apple Business section, go to the Brand & location settings section and select Brand and location details.
    3. In the Brand details section, set up a brand name. Your brand name is displayed as your location name on Apple Maps. Apple may reject brand names that do not meet their formatting requirements. Formatting that would be rejected includes but is not limited to brand names written in all lower case, all upper case, or containing special characters.
    4. Select your country and add your business website URL. If you don’t have a business website URL, you can provide a social media page.
    5. Select a primary category that best describes the main function of your brand, as well as additional categories that provide further insight into the services or products you offer.
    6. Indicate whether you’re the brand owner or a franchisee.
    7. Click Create.

Every brand is manually reviewed by Apple. You’ll be notified via email if your brand is rejected or if more information is needed. This typically takes up to five working days. If Apple is not able to approve your brand, you can return to the Square Dashboard to review details that need to be corrected.

If you already have an existing Apple Business account with an existing brand, you’ll be able to select that existing brand in Square Dashboard without needing to create a new one.

Note: Only one brand can be set up in Square Dashboard.

Set up brand logo and assets

After your brand is approved by Apple, add your brand logo so that your brand can be represented on your Apple Maps place cards. To do so:

    1. Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Channels..
    2. Within the Brand details section, go to Brand assets.
    3. Select Logos and images.
    4. Upload a logo that is at least 1024 px by 1024 px.
    5. Click Upload logo.

Note: Your logo is reviewed by Apple and needs to be approved before it can show up on your Apple Maps place card. Review brand identity requirements if you have questions.
