Create and edit bundles with Square for Retail
About bundles
Bundles are groups of existing sellable items sold together, often at a discounted price. Unlike combos, the buyer cannot pick and choose which items are included in the bundle – you define the component items in the bundle only.
For example, you could sell a pasta dinner bundle that includes a jar of pasta sauce and a bag of pasta, or you could sell a bedding bundle that includes sheets and pillowcases.
Use bundles to sell a combination of existing items together as one new item. Bundles are helpful for keeping the inventory of all items sold in the group and can be adjusted for mix-and-match products if needed.
Bundles help to boost sales, cut delivery costs and help introduce new products. You can track inventory on individual items whether they’re sold separately or in bundles.
Before you start
Bundles can include up to 20 items, referred to as components.
You can create bundles and add or remove components from a bundle from your Square Dashboard. You can edit bundles from Square Dashboard or the Square Retail Point of Sale app.
Bundles can be sold from the Square Point of Sale app, the Square Retail Point of Sale app or your online store.
Combos and bundles have different use cases:
Use combos when you want to provide a purchasing experience with predefined options and allow selection within specific categories. Learn how to create and sell combos.
Use bundles when you need to sell multiple existing items as a new single product, often with a mixture of various items, like a gift basket.
Create a bundle
Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Items & services (or Items & menus or Items & inventory) > Items > Item library.
Click Create item.
Click Sell as a bundle > Select components.
Tick the box next to each item you want to include as components of your bundle.
Click Select components.
If applicable, add a SKU or GTIN.
Add the bundle Price.
Click Save.
Edit a bundle
- Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Items & services (or Items & menus or Items & inventory) > Items > Item library.
- Click a bundle to view.
- Click Select components under Bundle details to add or remove components.
- Tick or untick components and click Select components.
- Update the amount in the Quantity column.
- Update the Price (required) field.
- Click Save.
