Set up Meta for Business (Facebook Shops)

About Meta for Business 

You can integrate your Square Online store with Meta for Business to sync your product catalog to Facebook and Instagram, enabling customers to browse and purchase your products directly from your social media profiles.

Before you begin

• You need to set up your website.

• You need a Facebook or Instagram business profile. You can convert your personal account to a business account on Facebook and Instagram. Learn how to create a Facebook business page.

• You need to review and follow the Facebook commerce policies and guidelines.

• Meta for Business and Facebook Food Ordering cannot be active at the same time. If you're currently using Facebook Food Ordering, you'll need to disconnect it before setting up Meta for Business. Learn how to Set up Facebook and Instagram food ordering for your website.

Step 1: Connect Square to Facebook

1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Online > Websites 

2. Go to Channels > Meta for Business and select Set Up, then Continue.

3. Toggle the option to agree and Continue.

   1. Toggle Facebook pixel tracking optionally.

4. Choose the store and Continue.

Step 2: Connect Your Facebook Account

1. Choose to Continue as (user).

2. Toggle options and Get started.

3. Business portfolio should automatically populate. Click Next.

4. Choose the Facebook Page to connect and click Next.

5. Connect Instagram account if applicable (or choose to Skip) and click Next.

Step 3: Set Up Your Catalog

1. Select the catalog you want to use for inventory management and product advertising, then select Next.

2. Your Square product catalog will automatically sync to Facebook and Instagram.

Step 4: Set Up an Ad Account (Optional)

1. Select the ad account you'd like to use for advertising your products and services.

2. If you don't have an ad account, select Create New, or skip this step.

Step 5: Install Facebook Pixel

1. Select your Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) account and select Next.

2. The Facebook Pixel will be automatically installed and your item library will automatically sync to Facebook and Instagram.

Step 6: Review and Complete Setup

1. Review all your settings and select Continue.

2. Click Next to grant the required permissions to Square.

3. Wait for the connection between Square and Meta Commerce to complete.

4. Select Done to finish setup.
