Elana and Yaniv Livneh started Liv Breads with one goal: to provide quality bread they found in New York City to surrounding suburbs. They have since expanded to two new locations. After evaluating multiple point-of-sale options, Liv Breads found that Square Point of Sale was simple for employees to use yet robust enough to handle large sales volumes on their busiest days. Square POS is simple to set up and customize, and it doesn’t take much training for employees to start ringing up customers.
On the weekends, Liv Bread typically processes between 300 and 400 transactions. To create a seamless experience for employees and customers, Elana and Yaniv organized their item grid with photos and added ingredient lists for each item. Now cashiers can check customers out quickly and answer any questions, helping to keep the line moving so they can serve customers more efficiently.

Liv Breads operates seamlessly with omnichannel inventory management.
On a day-to-day basis, precise inventory is crucial, and Square syncs Liv Bread’s inventory across their three locations and Square Online store. When they run out of croissants for the day, it’s important that inventory is automatically updated so they don’t oversell. Elana and Yaniv made use of Square Inventory API to automate their inventory management even further with real-time updates for each location.
Square sales reports make it easy to identify historical trends and arm Liv Breads with powerful insights, especially around the holidays. Elana and Yaniv can review reports to make more educated business decisions so they can produce the appropriate number of each item and reduce waste.

Marketing and loyalty tools helped build a community.
With over 20,000 customers stored in their Square Customer Directory, Liv Breads uses Square Email Marketing to promote holiday preorders. Elana and Yaniv can directly see the spike in sales that can be attributed to that campaign.
Square Loyalty helps Liv Breads drive repeat business, and customers appreciate the ability to earn rewards like a free coffee every so often. Their loyalty program is integrated with their POS so it’s seamless for staff to redeem rewards at checkout and eliminates the need for punch cards. They offer five loyalty points when a customer opts into their email marketing list, helping to expand their contacts. This is an effective way to boost customer engagement in their marketing and loyalty programs so they can bring all their customers back more often.
