About item defaults
When creating items, you can configure certain item settings so that new items always have a few attributes automatically enabled, especially for items you sell on your Square Online site. This includes default item type, online channels and site visibility.
Before you begin
To see all item defaults, make sure you’ve set up a Square Online account. Learn how to Get started with Square Online.
Set up item defaults
To set up item defaults:
from your Square Item Library, go Settings > Item defaults.
Click Edit for the setting you want to configure.
Click Save when finished.
Available item defaults
You can set up the following options as your item defaults:
Choose what item type all new items should be. This is especially helpful when you only sell one kind of item (such as only Physical or only Event items).
