Customise your Close of Day
Square’s default close of day is 24:00. For businesses open after midnight, to ensure that a full day’s business activity is included in on etransfer, you can customise your close of day to your preferred time.
Square will group and send payments based on the time you choose to close your business each day. This is referred to as your “close of day.”
If you choose a close of day time after 24:00, your transfer will be sent in full two working days later. Read an overview of Square’s standard transfer schedule.
Set a Close of Day Time
You can set a custom close of day time for each day of the week. To do so:
Visit Balance > Settings in your online Square Dashboard.
Choose a day of the week and set your time zone and your close of day time. It’s recommended that you set your close of day one hour after your actual closing time to provide a window for last minute sales.
Apply these settings to the rest of the week.
Close of Day Example
A pub closes at 01:00 every day of the week. The pub owner sets a 02:00 close of day in the Square Dashboard.
At the pub’s close of day (02:00), Square will group all sales from the last 24 hours (02:00 - 02:00) in a single transfer. The transfer will automatically initiate the following day, and post the day after. If this was a Wednesday, the transfer would be posted on Friday.
