New order and payment capabilities, like the ability to split items and Scan to Pay, are available for use with your Square for Restaurants POS.
Overview of the new order and pay capabilities
The Orders tab contains all your bills, tabs and online orders to give you a single, centralised location to manage your orders.
Scan to Pay allows your customers to pay for their meal by scanning a QR code on their printed receipt, helping you turn tables faster and free up more time for your staff. Scan to Pay can also help improve customer satisfaction by speeding up their payment experience.
Your staff can split bills or payments among multiple guests or multiple payment types, by item or by seat. When splitting by seat, items assigned to multiple seats will be equally split among them.
Note: Splitting an item (eg a bottle of wine split multiple ways) is currently available through our Beta programme.
