In July, we launched a bunch of cool new features. To make sure you’re getting the most out of Square, here’s a roundup.

Get a personalized referral code.

Now it’s easier than ever to refer other businesses to Square. Claim a personalized code to share with your friends and community. If your eligible referee activates a Square account through your code, you and your referee will each receive free processing on up to $1,000 in card transactions for each referral1. Learn more.

Now receive inventory through the Square Retail app.

Square for Retail subscribers can now add stock to their inventory from the Square Retail app. This new feature removes the need to add stock in Dashboard. Simply tap the bottom action menu, select Add Stock, and scan or search for the items you want to add. You can associate unit costs to your newly received items and assign them to a vendor of your choice.

Take more control of your items with Square’s new Item View.

You can now manage variations, inventory (even across locations), and location price overrides in the updated Items tab in Square Dashboard. Employee permissions have also been updated, providing more controls over employee actions outside their assigned locations. Try it today by heading over to the Items tab in your Dashboard.

Delegate employee management for locations.

Square Employee Management allows account owners and administrators to create employee roles and manage their permissions in both Square Point of Sale and Dashboard. Now with Delegated Employee Management, you can create location manager roles. Location managers can create and edit employee roles for their specific locations, but you can determine their level of access to sensitive account information.

View client messages at a glance from Square Appointments.

Messages from your client can now be seen straight from the Overview page in Square Appointments. When clients book an appointment with you, they have the option to leave you comments or notes. Now those notes or comments can be seen from your Overview page so you no longer have to click into each appointment (which should save you some time). Learn more about Square Appointments.
