We received thousands of entries for the BRASSYs, our first-ever business awards, designed to recognize and celebrate bold and extraordinary American businesses.
The nominees were inspiring, and we heard incredible stories of passion, perseverance, and creativity. Entrants spanned all 50 states and represented business of every kind.
Now, we’re proud to announce this year’s 35 BRASSYs finalists. Finalists were judged on their business’ mission, innovation, community-building efforts, the delight it brought its customers, and public votes.
Over the next several weeks our panel of judges — which includes Girls Who Code founder and CEO Reshma Saujani, La Colombe Coffee Roasters cofounder and CEO Todd Carmichael, Former Chief Financial Officer of Goldman Sachs and Square Board Member David Viniar, and Roy Choi, who was named one of Time magazine’s 2016 “100 Most Influential People” — will evaluate the finalists and select five winners. The winners will be announced in mid-November.
Each of the five winning businesses will receive a cash prize of $10,000 and mentorship from our panel of judges at a one-day Seller Summit at Square’s San Francisco headquarters. They’ll also receive a Business Power Pack worth $2,500, which includes products and services from Square and our partners at Twitter, Google Ads, Indeed, Magisto, Avvo, and Vistaprint.
To all the businesses who entered: Thank you for sharing your vision and story with us. So without further ado, we present the 35 BRASSYs finalists. Congrats to you all.
