This is the standard option for quick follow-up appointments. Please note that a half hour does not typically allow enough time to address complex challenges related to breast/chest feeding (i.e. nursing strikes, the re-establishment of a nursing relationship following bottle-feeding, etc.) or bodywork.

Therapeutic Ultrasound Treatment for Persistent Clogged Ducts & Engorgement

Got a stubborn clogged duct? Come in for a therapeutic ultrasound treatment. Bring your baby with you so they can nurse after your treatment. This is a full hour time slot for those who have complex challenges that require a longer follow-up appointment to fully address and/or bodywork.

Initial Assessment

This appointment is for all initial appointments, so that we can fully assess any areas that are challenging, provide you with an individualized treatment plan, and provide you with the education necessary to fully understand what's causing the challenges that brought you into the office, and how we will work together to overcome them.

Marissa Bierl, MBA, IBCLC, CBS

Marissa has always had a passion for helping mothers and families during the fourth trimester. In 2019, she completed postpartum doula training through Life Cycles in Buffalo, NY and started the journey to become certified as a lactation consultant with a focus on tethered oral tissues. In 2020, Marissa completed 90-hours of lactation education to become a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) and completed a 500-hour apprenticeship with WNY Orofacial before passing her exam and earning her IBCLC credentials. Marissa currently resides in East Aurora, NY with her husband, three young children and golden retriever. She and her family are avid hikers and spend much of their free time outdoors!

Mary Miller, MA, IBCLC, CPD

Mary has been working in the field of public health and human services for over 20 years. She has extensive experience overseeing programs serving people with disabilities and mental health diagnoses. For nearly 10 years she’s been a certified perinatal doula offering birth and postpartum support, and currently teaches lactation courses for doulas with the Buffalo Doula Collective in Western, NY. In 2017, Mary opened WNY Orofacial, where she regularly mentors apprentices seeking IBCLC certification and helps families navigate the complex web of services to treat TOTs (tethered oral tissues), providing treatment for infants and young children to develop functional orofacial skills. In 2018, she received her Master of Arts in Health and Wellness with a concentration in Lactation Studies from Union Institute & University, where she is currently working toward her PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies concentrating on public policy and social change.
