Process Custom Sale Amounts

Square Point of Sale makes checkout easy with your customizable item library. If you need to ring up a unique item or custom sale amount, Square Point of Sale makes that simple too! 

Enter a Custom Sale Amount

  1. From the Square app, tap Keypad.

  2. Enter a custom amount.

  3. Tap the orange + icon to add a separate custom amount to the sale, or tap Current Sale and select the sale amount to adjust the quantity, taxes, discounts and add a note.

  4. Swipe your customer’s card when you’re ready to check out. If you’re manually entering this payment, tap the back arrow and the X icon to get back to the Charge screen.

  5. Tap Charge > Manual Credit Card Entry to manually enter your customer’s card information or select a different payment method. Note: If you’re using a mobile device, or your tablet is being used in portrait mode (vertically), tap Review Sale > Charge.

  6. If applicable, allow your customer to sign for their payment, leave a tip, and select their receipt delivery preference.

Note: Team members that do not have permission to add custom amounts will be required to key in a manager passcode to add a custom amount to a transaction. You can enable or restrict your team’s ability to add custom amounts to transactions by going to Permissions > Checkout in your online Square Dashboard.
