Operations Feature Makes Selling Simple for Growing Businesses

TORONTO, ON–May 6, 2014– Today Square released inventory tracking, a top-requested feature, to help Canadian businesses optimize their day-to-day business operations and spend more time doing what they love. Inventory tracking is the latest addition to Square’s powerful service that offers sellers of all sizes and kinds easy yet sophisticated technology for creating the best customer experiences and running their business.

“As we’re on the go every day, Square inventory helps us to determine when and what items to stock up on after each show,” said Thomas Fournier, guitarist for The Hearings, an indie rock band from Québec City, Québec. “Square inventory has alleviated the time-consuming task of manually counting our inventory, allowing our band to focus on our music and fans.”

Inventory tracking gives sellers a free tool to track their item stock as they sell in person from Square Register. Sellers manage their inventory for any of their items in their Square dashboard and even set up stock alerts so they are never caught off guard by low inventory.

Square is bringing smart and simple business tools to sellers across Canada, including allowing them to accept credit card payments on their mobile device. Most recently, Square added valuable tools including a new dashboard, next-day deposits for payments taken over the phone, and the ability to accept Discover and Diners Club credit cards in addition to Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Square announced last week that its Square Reader is available at 440 Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Canada with a full $10 rebate. The Square Reader is also available at Apple, Best Buy, Future Shop, London Drugs, and Staples retail outlets.

Canadian sellers of all sizes are increasingly adopting Square’s business tools for their affordability and ease of use. From the full point-of-sale app to sales reports and business analytics, Square’s products make it easier for sellers to run and grow their businesses.
