We’re always working on new tools to help you start, run and grow your business. Last month, we launched some cool features designed to make work feel a little bit less like work. Here’s a quick rundown of the new things you can do with Square.
Accept credit and debit cards with Square Reader
You may have heard the news by now — you can now take payments using Square Reader, the smallest, most mobile and most affordable way to accept credit and debit cards. Creating a tool you can take with you anywhere you do business was important to us, so Square Reader works with your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet by simply plugging directly into the headphone jack. It allows you to securely accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and JCB branded cards.
It’s only $19 to purchase online (with free shipping), or you can pick one up in Officeworks, Apple and Bunnings stores around Australia.
Send invoices with Square
We’re making it easier for you to accept any form of payment — whether it’s in the shop, over the phone, or by issuing an invoice. Square Invoices simplifies what was once a time-consuming process by allowing you to issue invoices instantly using the Square Point of Sale app or from your Dashboard. You can then track who’s paid and what’s outstanding from a single location, helping you save time and chase down payments efficiently.
Issuing an invoice with Square is secure, fast, trackable and affordable — you can send as many as you like free, and you’ll only pay 2.2% for those paid online with Square. Send your first invoice from your Dashboard.
Refer friends and get free processing
You love the fact that you can accept credit and debit cards with Square, so why not share the love? When you invite your friends, family, colleagues or anyone else to use Square, you’ll both be rewarded. For each person who activates their account through your referral link, you’ll receive reimbursements on processing fees worth up to $1,000 over the next 180 days. After activation, your friends will also receive $1,000 in free processing to help get them started, too. What could be simpler than that?
You can share your unique referral link from your Dashboard, or on social media simply by copying and pasting it in any email or status update you like.
Streamline your accounting with newly integrated software
Doing your accounting in the cloud, too? We’ve made it possible to integrate Square with Xero or Intuit QuickBooks Online to ensure all card transactions you process with Square Reader are updated seamlessly with your accounting software. Manage and simplify your expenses, sales, GST, reporting and more — all you need to do is link your accounts in your Dashboard.
Make updates to digital receipts
Square Feedback is one of the simplest and least invasive ways to check in with your customers to find out what they think of your service. But we understand that it’s not something you want all your customers to see on their digital receipt.
This month we’ve added a new setting to your Dashboard that allows you to switch off feedback on digital receipts at any time. You can re-enable the feature whenever you need it.
But that’s not all. Remember that simple (and valuable) referral program we just told you about? You can also add your unique referral link to your digital receipts. Simply log in to your Dashboard, click Account & Settings and manage your receipts. It’s one of the simplest way to start accruing your free processing!
