Introducing New Features for Android Devices

In the midst of winter, right now we’re looking (perhaps optimistically) towards the warm weather of Australian spring, which for many local Square sellers may mean switching up your offerings (bye-bye hot chocolate, hello cold-drip iced coffee?)

To help you manage quick and simple updates at the point of sale, we’ve made it easier to make changes, process sales and check reports in Square Point of Sale on your Android device.

Here’s what’s new:

Item Management has been simplified, with a dedicated command centre for adding, deleting and modifying items on your device. Create new items and modifiers directly in the app, then jump into your Square Dashboard reports to view powerful insights on what’s selling and what’s not — and adjust your offerings accordingly.

Sales Summary reports are now available, giving you the option to review sales, tips, discounts, refunds and much more, directly on your device. You can also email these reports to yourself, or print them through a connected receipt printer.

Cash Management now allows you to track and reconile cash in your drawer, print reports and record payouts on Android tablets.

USB bar code scanners are now supported for Square Point of Sale users running Android version 5.0 or later. You can now add SKUs to items and scan them—here’s to a faster checkout! Read more about compatible hardware for Android devices here.

Give these new features a whirl today — open Square Point of Sale on your Android device to check it out, or log in to your Square Dashboard. If you haven’t already done so, make sure you’re running the latest version of Square Point of Sale for Android to make the most of these new features.
