3 Invoicing Features to Help you Get Paid Faster

You’ve got your Square Terminal, you were able to start an online store, and you’re ready for business. But to get that business running smoothly, you need to get paid faster. And one way to do that is to accept online payments and make the process as seamless as possible for both you and your clients. We have three features to Square Invoices that have been created to help do just that.

With our invoice features, you can store customers’ cards on file, set up recurring payments, and schedule invoices—all of which make the process easier. Here’s how to get paid faster and use these helpful invoice features:

1. Securely store your clients’ cards

The Card on File feature allows your clients to securely store their credit cards with Square and makes e-invoicing simpler. You can automatically charge that card on file via an invoice at a later date. This eliminates needless back-and-forth and clients don’t have to enter their credit card information for every payment. Card on File is great for personal service providers (like dog walkers), as the feature allows you to create custom invoices and bill for only what the client owes you. (Fido may have needed an extra-long walk one week, for example, and only a quick outing the next).

2. Set up recurring invoices

With Recurring Invoices, you can send invoices and collect payments for the same amount at regular intervals (like each day, week, month, or year). So, if you’re a wedding planner, a photographer, or a lawyer, for example, you can have your clients pay you overtime by portioning out the cost of your services in instalments. Coupled with Card on File, Recurring Invoices is extremely handy if you’re a membership-based business, like a gym or wine club. You just automatically charge customers what they owe every month (or other intervals) with no need to remember how to create invoices for particular clients every time.

3. Schedule your invoices

You can also schedule and send individual invoices on the days that are most convenient for your clients—and for your bookkeeping. For example, you may want to learn how to automate invoices to send all your invoices out at the end of the month.

Even custom invoices are always free to send. There are no monthly fees for Square Invoices, and you’ll only pay for processing when you accept card payments. Pay 2.2% per invoice paid online. When customers authorise Square to keep their card on file, you pay 2.2% per saved card payment. See funds from paid invoices transferred directly into your bank account in one to two business days.

With the right invoice features, it doesn’t have to be as much of a pain for you to get paid faster. Square Invoices helps streamline invoicing with features that automate the most time-consuming parts of the process.
